Servoy JasperReports Plugin v.5.0.0 Alpha1 - Release Notes¶

We are pleased to announce that a new version of the Servoy JasperReports Plugin, version 5.0.0 alpha 1, is ready and available for download.
The current version (which is now trunk/head in the source repository) is based on the 5.5.1 version of the JasperReports engine.

Please note:
- the default designer for reports using the engine version 5.5.0 and above is now JasperSoft Studio
- there is currently no official statement from JasperReports regarding full compatibility with Java 8; therefore the maximum recommended version of Java is 7. Reports of testing the plugin with Java 8 have seemed good up to now, but full compatibility with Java 8 cannot be guaranteed for now, due to the JasperReports engine and corresponding libraries.
- this is only an alpha version, it is not intended for production usage yet

The corresponding builds are available at the files section.
It is compatible with the latest 4.x version of the viewer bean.
